Human Smuggler Crashes During Pursuit Killing 8

Authorities on Wednesday morning were involved in a high-speed Pursuit involving a human Smuggler who led Department of Public Safety Troopers on a chase that ended outside of Batesville when the vehicle crashed into another vehicle killing at least eight individuals.

 

Texas Department of Public Safety authorities from the region informed of the tragic incident minutes after a pursuit was initiated in Zavala County along HWY 57 between La Pryor and Batesville.
The accident area was shut down and will remain closed for an unknown period of time as the Texas Department of Public Safety investigates the tragic incident.
The tragic accident is a result of human smuggling in the region.
