El hecho de que, a pesar de que la gente sabe que este tipo de actividades son ilegales, todavía lo hagan es una bofetada a las autoridades y a la sociedad en su conjunto.
Recientemente, nos enviaron una fotografía de una pila de basura y neumáticos que fue arrojada en el Distrito 3, en todos los lugares al lado de un cartel que advierte al público lo contrario, y honestamente, es molesto de muchas maneras.
La frase "Y es por eso que no podemos tener cosas bonitas me viene a la mente" cuando vemos este tipo de actos descuidados e irrespetuosos en toda nuestra comunidad.
Recuerde que el vertido ilegal es contra la ley y es un delito menor de Clase B. Si la cantidad arrojada pesa más de 5 libras pero menos de 500 libras o tiene un volumen de más de 5 galones pero menos de 100 pies cúbicos, la pena máxima es una multa que no exceda los $2,000. Encarcelamiento por un período que no exceda los 180 días.

Illegal Trash Dumping in our Community Continues at a Rampant Pace

For years on end, Maverick County has had a problem with illegal dumping of trash, tires, and unsightly materials throughout the county precincts and colonias.
The fact that even though people know that these types of activities are illegal and they still do so is a slap in the face to authorities and society as a whole.
Recently, a photograph of a pile of trash and tires that was dumped in Precinct 3, in all places next to a sign advising the public to the contrary, was sent to us, and honestly, it's bothersome in so many ways.
The phrase "and that's why we can't have nice things” comes to mind as we see these types of careless and disrespectful acts all across our community.
Remember that illegal dumping is against the law, and is a Class B misdemeanor. If the amount dumped weighs more than 5 pounds but less than 500 pounds or has a volume of more than 5 gallons but less than 100 cubic feet, the maximum penalty is a fine not to exceed $2,000. Confinement in jail for a term not to exceed 180 days.
