Según las fuentes, juez Byrne ha escuchado las dos partes y se ha entregado hasta el lunes 31 de marzo al dictar una decisión sobre el asunto.

          Un reciente artículo de Julian Aguilar en la Tribuna de Tejas dice el MCEPHA tiene una petición firmada por 8.300 residentes y ellos están desafiando esta legislación en este curso debido al hecho de que se trata de una agencia estatal.

          En la oposición, Rudy Rodríguez, portavoz de la Dos Repúblicas , dice que las preocupaciones de Baxter son exageradas y que su empresa se adhiere a estrictas regulaciones estatales y federales, citando la afluencia de empleo local para la comunidad y lo seguiran haciendo.

         "Si la mina esté en pleno funcionamiento, se plantean una grave amenaza para la salud y la seguridad de los ciudadanos de la comarca, el polvo, el polvo de carbón, cristal y silicio, serán llevados desde la propia mina y fuera del tren de carbón que transportará el carbón a través de la ciudad y en México todos los días," subraya George Baxter, Presidente de la MCEPHA.

State District Judge stays case of Dos Republicas until March 31st

         The case of the Maverick County Environmental and Public Health Association against the Texas Railroad Commission was heard on Wednesday before The Honorable Darlene Byrne's 126th Judicial District Court.

          According to sources, Judge Byrne has heard both sides and has given herself until Monday, March 31st to hand down a decision on the matter.

A recent article by Julian Aguilar in the Texas Tribune says the MCEPHA has a petition signed by 8,300 residents and they are challenging this legislation in this course due to the fact that it involves a state agency.

           In opposition, Rudy Rodriguez, a spokesman for Dos Republicas, says that Baxter's concerns are "Overblown" and that his company will be adhering to strict state and federal regulations, citing the influx of local jobs to the community.

          "If the mine becomes fully operational, it will pose a serious threat to the health and safety of the citizens of the county, dust, coal dust, crystal and silicon will be blown from the mine itself and off of the coal train which will transport the coal through town and into Mexico everyday," emphasizes George Baxter, Chair of the MCEPHA.
