Maverick County has concluded a road sign campaign for the positioning of reduced speed school zones in different areas of Precinct 3.
José Luis Rosales, Commissioner of Precinct 3 informed The News Gram that they have worked in at least 60 streets in Seco Mines, Siesta Acres and Hopedale where signs were missing or street names were not visible.
"We worked to identify streets, signs placed on corners, speed reduction in schools zones all in the name fof safety of the community," said the commissioner.
He noted that there had been requests from residents in these sectors and they have been working on this for several months.
Rosales further indicated that the county is conducting a study to determine the number of streets that were affected by rains in order to begin a campaign for the patching, or improvement of these streets.
