Internationally known motivational speaker Raul Magdaleno addressed ninth grade students from Eagle Pass High School and C.C. Winn High School on Friday, May 2.
Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) GEAR UP IV hosted the event in observance of efforts by Generation Texas to motivate and encourage students to graduate from high school and enroll in university classes.
The highly animated Magdaleno reached out to the students with a clear message to not allow anyone to dissuade them from making the most of their educational opportunities especially now that they have the support system of their parents and their schools, teachers and counselors to guide them.
"You cannot become what you can't see," he told a large gathering of freshmen at Eagle Pass High School at his first of two presentations of the day, "You can't be what you can't see so we're raising, raising the bar. The next time someone is crazy enough to ask you 'Who do you think you are?' <'¿Quien te crees?'> you're going to tell them 'I don't QUIT and I don't CARE!'"
