A motor vehicle accident occurred on Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:00 P.M. which left a small- sized vehicle lying on its roof inside a nearby ranch on Highway 277. Maverick County Deputies and officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety were on hand on Saturday investigating the accident in which EMT's were also dispatched to the scene to transport the driver to receive immediate medical attention.

A high speed chase that resembled something out of a Hollywood motion picture occurred on Saturday at approximately 4:00 P.M. as an individual traveling in a late model vehicle was seen stopped at a traffic light when a Maverick County Deputy’s vehicle pulled up beside him, turned on its flashing lights as to signal for him to pull over.
Pull over was the last thing on the driver's mind as a high-speed chase ensued on Del Rio Blvd. According to eyewitnesses, it was at an extremely high rate of speed.

Officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Pharr International Bridge arrested a Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico man after discovering $800,000 worth of alleged narcotics within the Toyota Tacoma he was driving.
