As dignitaries arrived to the Plaza Monumental in our neighboring city of Piedras Negras for one the final events during La Semana de la Amistad, many were at the balcony of the forty-foot high precipice which would be the launching pad for what seemed to be an ominous looking golf shot.
For one, the golfers would be that high off the ground and approximately 188 yards from the podium was the target, a series of circles, a bull's eye if you will which had been painted on the green grass of Shelby Park where festival goers had enjoyed a carnival and concert series during Las Noches Mexicanas.
