Procedures are underway for the hopeful approval of a project which will connect Second Street to Encino Park which will be called Town Square Blvd.
Erica Bustamante, Community Development Planner for the Middle Rio Grande Development Council, informed The News Gram that the application for the proposed Green Road in Eagle Pass has been turned in to the Economic Development Administration. She said it will take 30-60 days before any official word comes down as Eagle Pass is competing in the Austin Regional Office against projects across Texas and in states such as Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico.
38 Special Back Where They Belong: Don Barnes and the band tear into "Caught Up In You" to the delight of the hundreds who made the concert which included a variety of music styles including the country hit "Honky Tonk Dancer," the fabulous "If I'd Be The One," their smash hit "Hold On Loosely" and even a version of ZZ Top's "Just Got Paid." When 38 Special took the stage on Monday as part of the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino Concert Series, they were prepared to deliver a barrage of solid straightforward Southern Rock delivered at maximum volume.
Not visible due to the ramps at either side of the drum riser, an effect seen in stage setups such as Robert Plant's Honeydrippers in the early 80's, were the Marshall stacks which we could definitely hear and feel throughout the evening as Don Barnes and the boys gave the crowd a very well thought out set which grew dramatically before climaxing in the thunderous crescendo of "Chain Lightin'" and their smash hit "Caught Up In You".
