2017 marks 100 years since the Great War that took the lives of 116,516 US soldiers, and wounded 200,000 others.
Jacqueline Wright, a student at Nellie Mae Glass Elementary School in Eagle Pass ISD, has been selected to travel to Houston/Galveston to participate in a summer 2017 Lone Star Leadership Academy camp. Jacqueline’s selection was based on her outstanding academic success, demonstrated leadership ability, involvement in school and community activities, and a nomination from her teacher, Mara Nunez.
After four days of voting from Monday April 24 to Thursday April 27, the $8.5 million bond election recorded only 1,087 votes: Maverick County has approximately 29,789 registered voters in total.
